Brain Freeze Entertainment Launches Children's Reader App Just in Time for iPad2 Release
Goosed Up Rhymes, the next evolution in animated interactive storytelling, iPad, we're not in Kansas anymore
CHICAGO, IL--(March 9, 2011)
Brain Freeze Entertainment (http://www.brainfreezeent.com ) today announced the release of a new children's reader app for the Apple iPad available in the Apple App Store(iPod Touch/iPhone release also available). Goosed Up Rhymes breaks the boundaries that confined previous reader apps. By combining ground-breaking engineering with the talents of feature animation artists, Brain Freeze Entertainment creates a fully animated, highly interactive experience that will raise the bar and deliver the entertainment promised for the iPad.
"We saw something was missing from children's reader apps. The level of interactivity and animation was sorely lacking. The iPad's limited processor wasn't designed for the memory intensive demands of playing multiple animations. That limitation, combined with lack of creativity, defined the market. It was our challenge to change that. Once we overcame that obstacle, we had complete creative freedom," said Tod Carter, founder of Brain Freeze.
Goosed Up Rhymes takes full advantage of the form and functionality of the iPad, using children's own curiosity as the navigation tool to launch their exploration of each beautifully illustrated nursery rhyme and game. Once they hear Mother Goose read the story, they will be encouraged to touch the screen to find over 70 hidden animations and gather all eight "golden acorns" for the squirrel.
"We designed our app from a very personal perspective," said Joe Spadaford, the co-creator of Goosed Up Rhymes, "We already have a pretty different sense of humor, and this app gave us a chance to express our zany side. Parents will be surprised at the range of ages that this app appeals to. We have seen two-year old children replaying animation within minutes of seeing an iPad for the first time, but also nine-year olds laughing and exploring the scenes."
Touch screen capability allows early readers and even preschoolers to benefit from the word recognition element of the story where they can tap on a word to hear Mother Goose read it back to them.
Goosed Up Rhymes features:
70 storybook animated interactions
8 fully animated storybook pages with lush full-color illustrations
4 interactive games that focus on shape puzzles, memory and recognition, and hand-eye coordination
Fully interactive touch screen technology that reads each word so children can learn one word at a time
Material suitable for 2-10 year olds (and older)
Goosed Up Rhymes App for the iPad is available for purchase now from the App Store(iPod Touch/iPhone release also available)
